Essential Requirements for Private Schools to Join Iraq’s International Schools

1. Submission of an official application to the Inspection Committee by the Founding Authority only, at the office of the Director General of Private and Foreign Education.

2. The total land area of the school must be no less than 1,000 square meters. Applications for existing schools meeting all other requirements but with an area between 600 and 1000 square meters will be reviewed by the Inspection Committee on a case-by-case basis.

3. The school must be Primary or Basic level only.

4. The school's operating license must be valid and current, with no pending legal or financial obligations.

5. The school must operate on a single-shift system.

6. The school building must contain science laboratories.

7. Classrooms must be furnished with high-quality furniture and equipped with heating and cooling systems.

8. Classrooms must be equipped with smart interactive boards.

9. Classrooms must be furnished with lockers for each student to store books.

10. School restrooms must be properly equipped and meet health and sanitation standards.
